Day 1: July 20, 2011



Well, after 3 long flights and 48 hours, we are in Africa and in great spirits! Our last 2 days consisted of napping across airport chairs and on floors, playing intense card games, admiring all the British accents, juggling heavy backpacks, and of course, making sure we are all taking our anti-malaria medication on time. Pierre and Rentia's son, Pieter, met us in the Johannesburg airport for lunch and to calm our nerves about going through customs when entering Zimbabwe. His generosity and kindness was very welcoming, especially for this weary group of travelers! We are happy we made it here safely and with no lost luggage!
